Health Via Art Terms and Conditions


Follow these guidelines to make sure the photos submitted are of the highest quality and display the artwork in the best possible way.
  • For three-dimensional artwork, use a piece of white matboard as a background to eliminate distraction behind the piece. Take the photo from a view at or just above eye-level.
  • For two-dimensional artwork, stand directly in front of the artwork and take the photo at eye level (if placed on a wall) or directly over it (if placed at floor-level). Check the edges of the artwork to make sure they are straight with the camera’s frame, not slanting forward or back, which may distort the artwork.
  • Make sure there are no unnecessary shadows cast on the artwork.qInformation required during upload::

Additional Facebook and Twitter submissions will be required for winners in each category to be eligible for FINAL GRAND PRIZE

Photographs that were not taken by the artist.Any copyrighted images and writing from printed materials including but not limited to: newspapers, magazines, catalogs, books, cards, images and writing from digital sources (internet).

Any logos or derivative works.


Entries must be completely original. They can be in one of the following categories:
  • Healthie Selfie: Add a space after "or" and before "family" It really should read: Show us a selfie of you with your friends or family, at home or at school, doing something healthy - walking, playing a sport, cooking, or working in a kitchen garden.
  • Juice Splash: Create an abstract art project using multiple colors, juices, or smoothies.
  • Color Me Healthy: Create an image or word using raw or cooked fruits, nuts, seeds, or vegetables.
  • Healthy Word Art: Create an art project that depicts good health by using words, phrases, or quotes. 
All materials available in an art store can be used, including objects from nature and recycled materials. Clay, plaster, paper mâché, wire, fabrics, fibers, etc can be used to model. Digital media will need to incorporated one of the above materials. 
Judging will be performed by a panel of leaders and subject matter experts in art and heatlth from the community who will take overall message, artist's statement, and artwork into consideration, giving each equal weight.

Celebration events will be held at Ayuvia and other sponsor locations to honor the award winners, their school teachers and parents. Details will be published in April 2016


  • This contest is for students in grades K–12 during the 2015–2016 school year.Judging will be conducted separately for entries within each of the following divisions: Grades K–5, Grades 6–8, Grades 9–12.. 
  • Entries must be submitted as digital uploads by parent or legal guardian.Entries must be received by Mar 30th 2016
  • An Artist’s Statement that completes the sentence “Healthy to me means..." (not to exceed 100 words) must accompany the artwork.
  • It may be included in the artwork itself, but must also accompany the entry. A field will be provided for the statement during the submission process.
  • Entrants agree to the use by sponsors of their first name, plus school name, city, and state. They must also agree to the reproduction of their artwork for the purpose of art advocacy by checking on consent box during online submission.
  • Recipients of First Prize in each division and overall Grand Prize and their teachers will be notified no later than May 15, 2016.
  • For FINAL GRAND Prize "Facebook Likes" and Twitter "ReTweets" will be taken into consideration
  • Criteria of Scoring : Imagination, Inspiration, Creativity, Message Clarity, and the element of FUN
  • Ayuvia reserves the right to remove any entry deemed not appropriate.
